When it comes to large reclamation projects, one of the biggest challenges is the logistics of managing every area and aspect of the project simultaneously.
This was the case when we took on the reclamation of a site in the Foothills/Deep Basin area. This project included multiple wells stretched across a large land area that included creeks, intermittent drainage and other environmental challenges, in addition to frequent heavy rainfalls. Moving such large amounts of material across this terrain could have led to a lot of frustration, barriers and wasted time, but our years of experience with large-scale, complex projects allowed us to create a comprehensive, informed plan that maximized efficiency.
We virtually eliminated wasted time by carefully scheduling our crews and equipment so that as work was being wrapped up on one well, some crew members had already moved on to start on the next. This continuous rotation allowed us to keep up an impressive work volume, without needing significantly more time or equipment.
Tough terrain, intense weather and large volumes of work can be seen as barriers, but in our experience, it’s an expected part of reclamation. We know these challenges will come up, and that preparedness helps us to create realistic plans that keep us on target.
